Bloody Roar 4 features over 30 playable characters (across 6 species), featuring both anime-style and realistic character models. Animations are greatly improved, with more fluid movements; the game features a mix of 3D rendered backgrounds with 2D fighting. Bloody Roar 4 was released in North America on September 18, 2006. The game was never released outside Japan or North America Bloody Roar 4 is a fighting game for the PlayStation 2 platform, sequel to Bloody Roar 3; it was published by Hudson Soft in Japan and Ubisoft in North America - published Ubisoft in Europe. It was released in Japan on July 20, 2005 and in North America on September 18, 2006. Characters are broken up into six categories (3 for each gender), each with their own unique fighting style; "Beast" characters are carnivorous; "Human" characters are omnivorous; and "Animal" characters are herbivorous. The game also features a story mode covering the main characters, as well as an "Endless Battle" mode (a series of random battles), survival mode (fight against thousands of enemies) and team battle. There is also a unique multiplayer battle system called Duels; one player controls the main character while the other fights using a small robot for special skills. This system would be carried on to the following games. "Endless Battle" and "Duels" were dropped for the sequels, but "Survival Mode" was added back into Bloody Roar 4. Bloody Roar 4 features both anime-style and realistic character models; characters are composed of only two moves; light attack (button A) and heavy attack (button B), each with an associated special move. These can be done in quick succession or after blocking an enemy's attacks, various combos are possible using these basics to their maximum potential. Some characters also have unique moves such as jumps. The game features a mixture of 3D rendered backgrounds with 2D fighting; all characters and arenas are fully 3D rendered. Bloody Roar 4 is the only game in the main series to use this combination formula, as Bloody Roar 5 and Bloody Roar: Primal Fury used only 2D-animated backgrounds and characters. In Team Battle, players will choose from a pool of eight characters who fight similar to "Street Fighter Alpha 3"s Fight Team mode. In this mode, two teams of two will battle it out. In the first round, each team member fights their opponent one on one until one player scores a knockout on the other player. Then the players will switch to the second round where they will fight their opponent two on two. The team that scores a knockout first wins.Bloody Roar 4 features hundreds of different cards, with over 80 different types, each having their own set of stats and abilities. Cards can be collected using in-game currency called "Token", or purchased using real money, but there are many prizes for free-to-play players - these free-to-play prizes make up about 30% of all the cards available in the game. eccc085e13
